A Call for a Balanced Federal Budget
Idaho continues to be a leader in fiscal responsibility, and it’s time Washington D.C. followed suit.
On Monday, I met with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and our own Governor Brad Little to back a proposal for a U.S. Constitutional amendment that would require Congress to balance the federal budget. The federal government’s out-of-control spending is not only adding to our alarming national debt; families are being left to deal with its other consequences, including record high prices for everyday goods.
Idaho knows how to live within our means. Our strong economy is stable thanks to our commitment to making smart investments, reducing wasteful spending, and balancing our checkbook. The federal government needs to take note.
I support this call for a constitutional amendment to balance the federal budget. We need to put the U.S. back in control of its spending and bring much-needed relief for Idaho families.
