These initiatives encompass a range of enhancements including lighting, HVAC optimization, building controls, and various other energy-saving measures. As a result, Twin Falls County has successfully slashed energy consumption, leading to savings exceeding 1,000,000 kWh per year. To put this into perspective, this reduction is equivalent to offsetting the annual energy usage of 88 average homes in Idaho Power’s service area or the emissions from 158 gas-powered vehicles, as per the US EPA Greenhouse Gas Calculator.
In 2023, the county saw the completion of three projects, notably securing a $22,500 incentive for Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) installations at the main facility. These advancements stand as a testament to Twin Falls County’s steadfast dedication to financial stewardship and responsible energy management on behalf of their tax payers.
Idaho Power extends its appreciation for Twin Falls County’s commitment to energy efficiency, financial savings for their constituents, and a positive environmental impact. Looking ahead, both anticipate further collaborative successes in the realm of sustainable energy practices.
